Indiana’s athlete agent statute can be found here. Please skim it before class on Sept. 8, 2009. On a related note, I will also post two PDFs pertaining to sports agents on OnCourse. Please read both before class on Sept. 8.

I just posted the course syllabus on OnCourse under the “Resources” tab. I will bring hard copies on Tuesday, but feel free to print it off beforehand.
I just learned that Human Kinetics offers an e-version of the case study book we will use in class. Details are here. It is cheaper than the hard copy version available at the IU bookstore. I will continue to use my hard copy, but I wanted you to be aware of this option.
Here is an interesting lawsuit worth following.
Two items are required for the class. The first is a case study book. The IU bookstore should have about 20 of them. There is no “textbook” for this class. The second required item is a $15 subscription to Sports Litigation Alert.
Other than the supplemental readings mentioned in the previous post, there are no required readings for the first day of class. We will go over everything Tuesday night, so no worries. Have a good weekend.
Before class on September 1, 2009, please read the following articles here, here, and here. The first link provides a short summary of the “Socratic Method” of teaching. The second piece provides a good summary of what a student “case brief” is. The third link lends guidance on how to read a legal case.
